Before We Begin Manually Add Tags to Orders Remove Tags from Orders Use Caution When Removing Tags

Tags give you a flexible way to organize your orders and keep track of the details that matter to your business.

Once you've added tags to your orders, you can use them to search and filter orders, create automations, add columns to the Orders Grid, create Dashboard widgets, and include tag information in your templates.

Learn more about creating and working with tags in our series of help articles.

Before We Begin

Postsale has several built-in tags you can add to your orders. However, if you haven't already, you may want to create your own tags to organize and keep track of information that is important to you.

Check out our Add and Manage Tags help article for information on the available tag types and how to add your own tags to Postsale.

Manually Add Tags to Orders

You can add as many tags as you need to an order. Here's how:

  1. Search for and select the order you want to add tags to.

The Fern and Field Goods orders in the Ready to Ship status are searched for and order 4501 is selected.

  2. Open the order's context menu and click Edit Order to open the Order Editor.

The context menu is opened for the order and Edit Order is being selected.

  3. Locate the Tags section.

The Tags section is highlighted in the Order Editor.

  4. Click + Add Tag.

The Add Tag button is being clicked.

  5. Select the tag you want to add from the drop-down menu.
In this case, we added a tag we created to track which sales representative is responsible for the order. You can add your own tags, or use one of Postsale's built-in tags.

The list of built-in and manually added tags is shown. The Sales Rep tag is being selected.

  6. Enter the value you want to associate with the tag in the Value field.
Only tags with Has a Value enabled show the Value field.

The Sales Rep tag is configured to add a value. A value of ID1428 is entered into the field.

  7. Click Add Tag.

The Add Tag button is highlighted.

The tag is added to the order and appears in the Tags section.

The Sales Rep tag is shown in the Tags section as Sales Rep: ID1428.

  8. Repeat steps 4–7 to add more tags.

Two tags have been added: Sales Rep and Insured.

  9. Click Save Order to save your changes.

The Save Order button is being clicked.

Remove Tags from Orders

Use Caution When Removing Tags

When you remove a tag from an order, any searches, filters, automations, or templates that include the tag will no longer apply to that order.

To remove a tag from an order:

  1. Search for and select the order you want to remove tags from.

  4. Click the X associated with the tag you want to remove.

The X is being clicked to remove the Insured tag.

The tag is removed from the order.

The list of tags is shown and the Insured tag is no longer in the list.
